Discover Diving are pleased to run the only snorkel club on the Isle of Man. We welcome children and adults to come and join us and explore the underwater treasures in Manx waters, learn new skills and make new friends.
Snorkelling is a fantastic way to explore the marine environment. We offer British Sub Aqua Club training from Basic Snorkel through to Instructor levels. Our training runs on a continual basis, so you will train at your own pace. Our experienced instructors work with small groups in sessions that are fun, friendly and relaxed.
We welcome children from 6 years old and there is no upper age limit. You must be able to swim 50m unaided. There are some medical restrictions.
You can come along and try the first session without any obligation to join (pool fee applies).
We meet on a Sunday afternoon from 4.30 - 5.30pm at King Williams College Pool from September through to May. During the summer months we meet at various locations including Port Erin, Port Grenaugh, Fleshwick Port Soderick, Fenella Beach, and boat trips from Port St Mary. Times and days may vary.
What equipment do I need?
For pool training you will need a mask, fins and a snorkel. Some snorkellers wear a shorty wetsuit in the pool for warmth.
For sea sessions you will need a full length 5mm wetsuit, boots, fins, hood, gloves, snorkel vest, mask and snorkel. Discover Diving stocks a variety of kit specifically for children as well as the adult sizes too. Correctly fitting kit is essential for comfort and safety. Junior club members can hire wetsuits and boots for the summer period.
How much does it cost?
Annual membership costs £71 for children and £101 for adults. This includes 1 year’s British Sub Aqua Club membership (£21). Each pool session costs £7.50. Shore snorkel sessions in the summer are £7.50. Boat trips are £20. Training is included in membership
